Traveston Dam Proposal

A site approixmately 16km South of Gympie at Traveston Crossing has been identified as a possible site for a dam on the Mary River catchment. This is part of the Queensland Government's South East Queensland Water Supply Strategy.

Traveston is described on the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Water website as the preferred site for a new dam to meet the water supply demands of South East Queensland.

The proposed site affects properties around Kandanga Creek, Belli Creek, Yabba Creek, Skyring Creek and Coles Creek. A map of the site is available.
